With this app you can transliterate text to Greek based on a phonetic translation. This app translates the sounds of words, not the meaning. This app is also a good source for learning more about the evolution of the Greek alphabet. Premium upgrade unlocks keyboards and additional historical alphabets.

• Ancient Greek (polytonic Attic / Ionic, Hellenistic / Koine / Biblical with spiriti, accents and archaic letters)
• Modern Greek (post-1982 non-polytonic with modern digraphs)

Ratings and reviews

Great app for someone just starting to learn! One small caveat: when you lookup a word, there seems to be a possibility of hitting a link to a more full some dictionary ("open dictionary"). However, when you click that link, no dictionary opens up. Overall good though!

Literally all the complaints on this app are about how it "doesn't work" and "doesn't translate". Well, of course it doesn't translate, it's a transliterator not a translator. It goes by phonetic value. It says so in the description, and literally in the name. "Greek Alphabet", not "Greek Language Translator". It does what it's meant to do perfectly.

Way helpful for an absolute beginner like myself. I love learning about languages and their relationships to each other especially languages of the Bible. This is a very impressive app the more I discover how to use various features.
