This app translaterates from modern letters to the Old Egyptian hieroglyphs. Note that this app translates sounds of words, not necessarily meaning!

Transliteration is based on Manuel de Codage, the de facto standard for hieroglyph transliteration.

This is the best and most functional app I've seen for heiroglyphics and Coptic alike. It does a very good job and allows me to write what I want and keep it to myself. My only complaint is the numbers, which makes it harder to use as intended. I can easily pluralize things and count to 3. III can be done on any keyboard. 10, 100, and 1000 for instance are missing. Also writing without proper blocking makes it harder to use. More symbols would fix issues. Worth it still to upgrade for keyboard!

I really want to love this app, but it's really hard to when they have such a LIMITED NUMBER OF HIEROGLYPHS to work with. They claim to only have available as fonts the glyphs that are parroted by Gardiner, but this is silly to only include them as font worthy when there are 3000 Egyptian Hieroglyphs. This app has under 1200. Even if you don't know the sound of the other symbols, at least work to include them as fonts that can be TYPED. There needs to be another app that cures this laziness. 🙄

The app is amazing, but i've had a problem recently. I switched the word translating to english and the app crashed as soon as I did that. I tried to open it again and again. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it and it works back again, but I hope you'll fix this issue as soon as possible.
