About this app

The Foto-klub Beograd Lightmeter turns your phone's camera into a real reflected-light meter — it measures the light bouncing off your subject and gives you every equivalent combination of aperture, ISO and shutter speed for that exposure value (EV).

Free, no ads, built for Foto-klub Beograd members and any photographer who wants a reliable pocket lightmeter.

WHAT IT DOES
• Measures EV straight from the camera's own exposure data (Camera2 API) — not a phone light sensor, but the actual aperture/shutter/ISO the camera's auto-exposure is using.
• Three metering modes: spot (small area), center-weighted (wider area), and average (whole frame).
• Draggable reticle — place the metering point anywhere in the frame, useful when the phone is on a tripod.
• Trigger-based reading: aim, tap, and the reading freezes — just like a real handheld meter.

TWO LOOKS, ONE ENGINE
• Modern readout: three scrollable columns (ISO, shutter, aperture), like a time picker. Tap a column to lock it; the other two recalculate automatically.
• Retro dial: an analog scale styled after a classic Sekonic Auto-Lumi, with mating aperture/shutter rings that work like a circular slide rule.

MORE FEATURES
• Focal length zoom simulation — meter only what a chosen lens would actually see.
• Learning mode — an interactive exposure-triangle trainer that shows how aperture, ISO and shutter speed change the shot in real time.
• Settings: default ISO, metering mode, reticle color, and app language (English/Serbian).

ACCURACY NOTE
The app relies on the phone's own camera sensor, which varies between manufacturers. Readings are calibrated against reference meters, but should be treated as a very good estimate rather than a guaranteed substitute for a dedicated instrument in every situation.
