The Revised Common Lectionary is a three-year cycle of readings, based on major liturgical events. It is used by many churches and denominations around the world.
Each daily lectionary reading corresponds to the major liturgical event of the week (or day). Each day contains three readings: a Psalm, a Reading from the Old Testament, and a Reading from the New Testament.
The Revised Common Lectionary has a number of major events that occur on a regular basis. The Liturgical Calendar begins on December 1st (The First Sunday of Advent) of each calendar year, the concludes on November 30th (following The Reign of Christ) of the following calendar year.
