About this app
OcrBalance turns your phone into a meter reader. You point your camera at the display, the app recognizes the digits and sends the reading to your account — no paper, no mistyped digits.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Point your camera at the meter display. A frame shows you when the reading area is well framed: green means you can take a photo, amber that the framing is only acceptable.
2. Tap to take a photo. Nothing is automatically triggered — you decide when the frame is good.
3. The app deciphers the reading and shows it to you before sending it on.
4. Confirm, and the reading and the photo are saved in your account history.
DIGIT BY DIGIT, NOT JUST A NUMBER
You don't just get the final value. See each digit separately, with its cutout from the photo and how reliable the recognition was. Where the roller was moving between two positions or the display is hard to read, the app tells you exactly which digit is unreliable — so you can retake the photo before sending something wrong.
If the recognized value is incorrect, you can report it. The correction helps improve automatic reading and does not change anything already saved in your account.
TWO READING MODES
Smart — the phone detects the reading area itself, directly on the device, and activates the photo button only when the display is well framed.
Simple — no detection on the phone; decoding is done entirely on the server. Useful for meters that detection does not recognize.
The choice is remembered for the next time.
READING HISTORY
All sent indications remain in a list, with the date and photo. Open a reading and see the indication, the time of recording and the picture of the display, which you can zoom in with two fingers or a double tap.
IN THREE LANGUAGES
The interface is in Romanian, Russian and English and follows the language of the phone.
