About this app

Have you ever found yourself a couple of feet away from your computer, tired of the currently playing song, but too lazy to actually get up and change it? Fear not, with the MMRemote, this is history!

- Needs the server application on your computer. Read more below, or here:
- This is for MediaMonkey 5 (five). The app for MediaMonkey 4 can be found by searching the store for MMRemote4.
- I am just a single hobby developer, and have no affiliation with the MediaMonkey team.

This is a remote client for the media player MediaMonkey 5 for Windows. In order to use this app, you obviously need MediaMonkey 5 itself, but you also need the MMRemote5 server installed on your computer. This is a free Windows application that can be downloaded from

It works with windows 11 however the inability to tell the server what device the server plays to like Chromecast or dlna player makes this app a bit pointless. Not really a remote if it can only select tracks but can not change playback sources. Still requires a user to open MM and other apps can change playback sources. This app is good for control once it's set up to the device you want to play on prior to using remote but some more additions need to be implemented to justify the price.

Hi there! The app is, as you say, first and foremost for when MediaMonkey is set up and ready for use. Setting DLNA target is a feature many have asked for, which is now finally possible with the newest version of MM. I'm currently working on general stability and bug fixes, but an option for changing DLNA target will come soon.

I love MediaMonkey for my large MP3 collection and really love that MM5 Server is finally here! I have used MM4 Server very happily for many years. Very happy with it. The Developer is quick to respond, actively engaged with the project and helpful. Highly recommended app. There are no Ads. It works nicely on WiFi, not Bluetooth

Works just as well as MMRemote4 and even better in my experience. The statusbar (permanent) notification is much improved. The developer is very responsive to questions and suggestions.
