Wakening is an alarm app that gradually brightens the screen and play's pleasant sound that gently get louder, helping you wake up peacefully. It has all the features you expect from an alarm clock, but lets you wake refreshed instead of being shocked awake every morning.

Ratings and reviews

a few issues: the brightness menu never comes up on its own, I've applied every test case. phone not in use, screen off, screen on, phone in use, etc. so half the feature can't be used. also the app never makes sound when i need it to, when it's being used as an actual alarm. but in all simulated test scenarios (alarm set to start in a few minutes AFTER I'm already up) the sound works just fine. basically this app is 100% useless to me.

Exactly what I was looking for, no unnecessary bells and whistles. I love the skip feature for one-offs. Great work! One feature suggestion would be to have a persistent notification that shows the next alarm and the adjust/skip buttons so I don't have to go looking for the app. UPDATE: Almost a year later, I still use this app every day! So perfect.

Installed and set up an alarm for a few minutes down the line to test it out, and so impressed! So intuitive to set up. No ads. No crazy permissions granting required. And best of all, integrated into my Pixel phone's default alarm clock in pull down notification shade area. So no need to juggle two different alarm functions on my phone. Wakening does it all. Just click from pull down shade area. Brilliant. And free! Developer is responsive and accountable and cares too. Don't see that often.
