E-Sensor: Accessible Indoor Environment Monitor for Education
E-Sensor is a compact, easy-to-use measurement device developed specifically for educational purposes in architectural and environmental studies. This app allows you to connect the E-Sensor hardware directly to your Android device via USB Type-C to view real-time environmental data instantly.
Designed for Learning
Simple & Compact: A handheld device designed for quick measurements in any indoor space.
Plug-and-Play: No complex setup or wireless pairing. Simply connect via USB-C and start measuring.
Educational Focus: Ideal for students and researchers to understand the relationship between different environmental factors.
Measurements
The app displays data for five key environmental parameters:
Temperature & Humidity: Reliable indoor climate monitoring.
Air velocity: Measures airflow with an in-house developed sensor (0.0 – 5.0 m/s).
Illuminance: Tracks light levels (up to 83,865.6 lx).
CO2 Concentration: Monitors indoor air quality (380 – 32,000 ppm).
Technical Details
This application functions as a MIDI host, communicating with the E-Sensor using MIDI System Exclusive (SysEx) messages. It provides a straightforward interface for real-time monitoring and basic device calibration.
Open Source & Privacy
Open Hardware: As an open-source project, all hardware designs and libraries are publicly available on GitHub.
