I2P protects your communication from dragnet surveillance and monitoring by third parties such as ISPs. This is similar to proxy apps like Tor.

But I2P is not a proxy - it is an ecosystem.

Some of you folks seem confused: 1) Install this app. 2) Open your webbrowser and Google "iceraven github" and follow the yellow brick road until you've installed the Iceraven browser. 3) In iceraven go to extensions and search "proxy." install and configure the i2p proxy extension. 4) Turn on this i2p routing app; make sure it FINISHES CONNECTING! 5) Enjoy. you can bypass the tor network and connect to dark web links even in the middle of a DDoS tor network DDoS attack. Plus it's faster!

Easy to use, but can't get it to work with Privacy Browser

Works (just) configured Firefox proxy to localhost:4444. Accessed websites via the proxy. Very, very slow. Expectedly I suppose, due to the complexity of the routing. Does not start on boot, does not continue to run in background. Next to useless. Stick to Tor browser if I were you. Edit:- I tried the 'Developer Contact' option. Even that bounced.
