About this game

Gates of Zeus is a calm yet far from simple puzzle game where every move gradually changes the entire pattern of the board. In front of you is a square play area that fills up step by step with shapes, and in this growing order it is easy to feel a special rhythm. At the bottom, three new pieces are waiting, and each one must be placed in a way that not only finds room for it now, but also leaves you a chance for the next move. At first, the solutions seem obvious, but after just a few minutes the board begins to demand attention, patience, and the ability to see beyond the nearest move.

Gates of Zeus uses five types of shapes, and it is their combination that makes every round feel lively and unpredictable. After all three pieces are placed on the board, the next three appear, and the game continues without pauses as long as there is still space to place them. The main goal is simple and clear: build solid lines horizontally or vertically across the entire board. When such a line is completed, it disappears, frees up space, and gives you 50 points. Sometimes you can clear several lines at once, and then the board seems to take a deep breath, briefly bringing back a sense of control.

But Gates of Zeus is not just about scoring points. What matters more is the feeling of balance between greed and caution. You want to claim a convenient corner, close off an empty row, keep a wide open space in the center, but each shape can unexpectedly disrupt that plan. The game does not rush you or distract you with anything unnecessary, so all the challenge emerges naturally: from the shape of the pieces, from the density of the board, and from mistakes that seem harmless at first. It is satisfying to think things through, rethink your plan on the fly, and notice how one successful line can save an almost hopeless situation.

A session in Gates of Zeus lasts as long as your focus and free space hold out. You lose at the moment when at least one of the remaining shapes can no longer be placed on the board. Then the game stops, shows your final score, and lets you calmly accept the ending—one that almost always makes you want to play again right away with a fresh perspective. Gates of Zeus leaves behind a clear feeling: the rules are simple, the goal is clear, and the real difficulty lies in freeing up space at the right time and avoiding cornering yourself.
Build lines from shapes and keep the board clear.
