This is the MFAS Associations App.
Are you a member of the MFAS? Then this app makes all association information available on your smartphone, keeping you up to date on the latest developments within the association. Through this app, you can, among other things, register for events and order textbooks or summaries at a discount. Furthermore, you are always informed about developments regarding the bar and other association activities! Today, the MFAS is one of the largest and most active student associations in Amsterdam, with 2,500 members and 200 active members. The MFAS has its own bookstore, its own bar (the Epsteinbar), its own association magazine, and more than 20 committees.
Primarily, the MFAS focuses on providing services to its members, for example by offering textbooks and medical instruments at a highly reduced rate through our MFAS book service. Secondly, the MFAS is committed to maintaining and/or improving the quality of education and also organizes additions to the curriculum, such as courses, debates, and a major annual congress. For the parents of first-year students, the MFAS organizes an informative parents' day so that they, too, can get acquainted with their children's studies.
Last, but certainly not least, the MFAS ensures socializing and relaxation for its members. We organize fun, large parties in the lively city center, a beautiful gala every year at a top venue in Amsterdam, a trip abroad (in the past, our destinations included Istanbul, Lisbon, and Budapest), a sailing weekend, a first-year weekend, and much, much more.
The MFAS is therefore literally for and by students: without these students, there would be no MFAS. The MFAS hopes that, through its activities in the fields of education, service, and recreation, it makes a useful but certainly also an enjoyable contribution to the study time of Medicine and MIK students.
