About this app

Koine is one control surface for the consoles, wireless, processors and show gear on your network. This app puts it on your phone or tablet.

Koine itself runs on a computer at FOH (Windows or Mac, free from koine.muffstuff.net). This app finds it on the show network and opens it full screen, so a phone in your pocket becomes the show screen: your faders, mutes, macros and wireless batteries, on whichever console is in today.

FINDS KOINE FOR YOU
• Lists every Koine on the network by name. No addresses to type, no .local names that Android cannot open.
• Opens the Koine you used last, even after its address changed.
• Type an address when discovery is blocked (some venue Wi-Fi is).

THE SHOW SCREEN
• Faders and mutes for the channels you need, on any console Koine supports: Behringer X32 and Wing, Midas M32, Allen & Heath SQ, dLive, Qu and Avantis, Yamaha DM3 and CL/QL, Avid S6L and more.
• Macros: one button that does the same job on whatever desk is in today.
• Wireless battery and RF at a glance.
• Lock and hold-to-fire, so a pocket never changes the mix.

PAIRING AND SAFETY
• Pair the phone once with the code from the Koine screen. The app keeps each Koine's pairing.
• Phones get the show screen only. Building macros, automations and settings stays on the computer or an iPad.
• Keeps the screen awake while it is open.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Needs Koine running on a computer on the same network. Koine's demo mode works with no gear at all.
• Talks only to the Koine on your network. No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking.
• Any browser can open Koine too. The app only finds it for you and keeps the pairing.
• Android 10 and newer, phone or tablet, portrait or landscape.

What’s new

When Koine can't be reached (the phone changed networks, or the Koine computer is restarting), the app shows its own "Can't reach Koine" screen and reconnects by itself as soon as Koine answers.
