If it displays "N" when holding a magnet above the screen, then the magnets' North Pole is facing up. This can be verified using a Compass App.

Good useful app perfectly works. There is one little thing which need to be corrected which is the polarity it shows, is confusing. When it shows North Pole then the North Pole of being tested Magnet should be facing the phone screen.
