About this app

Pet-calc honestly calculates the true cost of owning a pet: from the initial purchase price to monthly and annual costs, all the way through its entire lifespan. Completely offline, ad-free, and no account required.

THE CALCULATORS

• Dog – size, origin (shelter or breeder), food quality, insurance, grooming, dog tax, training, and care.

• Cat – food, litter, veterinary care, insurance, indoor or outdoor access.

• Rabbits & Guinea Pigs – honest calculations are provided for two or more animals, as keeping them alone is considered animal cruelty. Costs per animal scale, the enclosure remains shared; indoor or outdoor housing changes the initial setup costs.

WHY RANGES INSTEAD OF APPARENT PRECISION
Each result shows a realistic range, in addition to the typical value, based on verified sources (including GOT, ZZF, and the German Animal Welfare Federation). Pet costs can only be honestly stated as a range – not down to the last euro.

What’s new

The breed catalogue grows: 11 new dog breeds and 3 new cat breeds — now 25 dog and 12 cat profiles, each with a documented breeder price and life expectancy. Breeds with documented breeding-related defects now carry a note right at the picker. Important fix: for some high-risk breeds the full insurance premium was shown too low — it now falls back to the honest average. Restricted-breed costs are breed-specific now.
