In Emilia-Romagna, it's possible thanks to "Roger, your assistant for getting around Emilia-Romagna," the new app promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region that integrates the transport services of all local companies into a single tool.
With Roger, you can purchase any travel ticket directly from your smartphone in a single operation, making it easier and more convenient for users to travel throughout the region.
To offer a simpler and more personalized travel experience, Roger uses the user's location (with prior authorization) while using the app to display the most relevant mobility services, stops, points of interest, and travel options based on your current location.
A project now being realized thanks to the collaboration of all regional transport companies (SETA, START, TEP, TPER) and with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, working together to provide a service that facilitates mobility and services for citizens.
The new app, available on Android and iOS phones, will allow you to plan your trip with solutions that integrate national connections with local transport (train and bus) and parking, and to purchase travel tickets from anywhere, including for Trenitalia.

App is not straightforward at all, I found how to buy a bound of tickets by mistake, it charged me the full amount, even though it's supposed to be reduced price for the bundle. You need to activate the ticket in the bus, but the tickets kept disappearing and reappearing, making it impossible to do so, so I was on the bus full of stress in case a conductor came along.. Since this is an alternative to paper tickets, fix this. For the rest, prefer to buy paper tickets at the tobacconist shops.

Criminally unfit for purpose. I have also experienced disappearing tickets.Worse than that, during a ticket inspection on the bus the app failed to open and I was left with a fine of €66. update: a very attentive and thorough response to my review from app support has led me to add a couple of stars. that said, the problem should not have occurred in the first place and inspection staff should have been properly trained to assist the client.

this app is insanely bad. No wonder it has 3 in a half stars. When they asked me for the ticket, i opened the app and i was suddenly logged out from my profile. So i tried to log in but the password didn't work, so i sent an email to make a new one but i did not received any code. After that i got a ticket of 80€. Horrendous app and geniuly awful
