SIPMX is an independent application developed for academic and research purposes that facilitates access to information on vascular plants of Mexico using artificial intelligence.
The application allows users to perform natural language queries on information contained in IBdata, a public database of specimens from the National Herbarium of Mexico (MEXU). It uses OpenAI (GPT) artificial intelligence models that interpret user queries and transform them into SQL queries to retrieve the corresponding information.
SIPMX does not generate, modify, validate, or replace scientific information. Its function is solely to facilitate access to and querying of the data contained in the original database.
