My most used app! 3 requests: 'batch mode' playlist editing, 'drag and drop' playlist (like DSub), add 'Up 1 level' option in folders (like server).
Skips or restarts songs I bought the license and have an excellent connection, but it still has a hard time streaming mp3s. I can play music flawlessly with Google with half the signal. And pinning the music first doesn't seem to help... Wish this was a little more polished.
Best streaming app I've used! Subsonic is the best implementations I've seen thus far for streaming your own music collection. I've probably tried them all and they've all fallen short. Subsonic picks up the slack in the important area, the UI has has everything you need and nothing you dont.
No support at all 1. The creators offer abolutely no support whatsoever for this commercial product (the server costs a monthly fee). 2. The Linux server cannot be run as another user than root on Ubuntu 14.04, which effectively makes the installation package a complete fail. A perfect example of how not to create software and how not to be a commercial creator of software.
Pretty and works well, but has one issue This app has a better user interface in my opinion than other free subsonic apps. However there is one problem that makes me use Ultrasonic. This app prevents Google maps navigation from being heard. The media audio mutes and you hear nothing while I assume directions are given. So I find this app useless for road trips. However I keep it on my phone as I really do like the interface and layout better than the other apps I have tried. If it fixes the navigation issue it will become the only app on my phone.
RTFM, Frank. Frank's comments below are ignorant. This product is supported by an excellent community and almost anything you would want to know can be found with a simple Google search. Sindre, the developer, provides very clear instructions for installing and configuring the server to run as any user.
Audio focus support (pausing the audio when another app requires focus, for instance route guidance, notification sounds, or when another app starts playing music).
Lock screen control (available on KitKat).
Improved support for using SD card on KitKat.
Re-introduce cache location settings on pre-KitKat.
Fix problem with writing to SD card on KitKat.
Lock screen widget.
Now works with older Subsonic server versions.
