Watch anything, with subtitles in the language you choose.
SubBeam listens to the video or live stream playing on your phone and floats translated subtitles on top of it, as the words are spoken. It works over other apps, so there is nothing to upload and no link to paste.
WHAT IT DOES
• Live subtitles translated into 60 languages
• Works over other apps: browsers, video apps and live streams
• Show the translation, the original, or both together
• Drag the subtitles anywhere on the screen
• Adjust the text size, outline and background
• Detects the spoken language automatically
GOOD FOR
• Live streams and concerts in another language
• Interviews, lectures and news as they happen
• Language learners who want the original and the translation side by side
HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose the app to listen to, or all apps.
2. Choose the language you want to read.
3. Press Start, then play your video.
TRY IT FREE
Your first session is free for one minute, with no account needed.
After that, sign in with Google and buy minutes in packs. There is no subscription, and purchased minutes never expire. Minutes are counted only while subtitles are running, and the same balance works on subbeam.net.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Some apps do not allow their sound to be captured. SubBeam tells you when no sound is arriving. This is common with copy-protected video services.
• Android asks for the audio and screen capture permissions because that is the method Android requires for one app to capture another app’s audio. SubBeam does not use the microphone and does not record or save your screen.
• Sound is sent for captioning only while subtitles are running. SubBeam does not store your audio or your subtitles.
Live translated subtitles in 60 languages, for apps that allow audio sharing.
