RockBot is a robot soldier fighting to protect humans from renegate bots.
A game freely inspired by old classic 8-bit jump-and-shoot games style, with some modern features.

Assets are original, and ressemblance to other apps or games, is just coincidence or a form of tribute to vintage games.
Sprites are from Iuri, Surt and Boberatu.
Tilesets are from opengameart, Surt, average-hanzo and Iuri.
Music is original from modarchive and Simone Bernacchia.
Sound effects are original, created with BFXR.

issues: I miss the old game art, the new art is inconsistent with the over all pixel style. The strong style of the original was one of the main draws Also, the boss Destrin Machine doesn't appear to have a hit box? I've tried everything I can thing of but it won't take a hit? For over half the bosses, there appears to be a lack of voice boxes. I know some bosses can go without cuz it's just fun trash talking, but some of it is needed for telling the lore of the game. Not sure if intentional.

When I dash or slide often(which are great travel skills) the game freezes completely. I know you're working on Project Firefly and all, but it'd be great if you fix this. (Also this occurs every stage I go to. I went back to an older version of the game where it didn't have this problem at all.)

Been playing the original game and it's sequel for a while now, watching it slowly become a shell of it's former self to the point were the first fortress boss of this game can't be defeated it's extremely disappointing. The games are fun they just needed improvements on the things they already have. Instead the game is copying so many styles and has barely evolved in quality and even get worse in aspects is genuinely painful to watch burn. I cannot believe 15 years of effort turned into this.
