About this app

Embeat is a native music player for your own Emby or Jellyfin server. Music and nothing else — no video, no photos, no library management. It talks straight to your server; there is no cloud service in the middle.

PLAYBACK, DONE PROPERLY
• Gapless playback — live albums and continuous mixes with no audible gap between tracks.
• Lossless direct play of FLAC and ALAC, straight from your server.
• HLS/AAC on mobile data — when the network gets shaky the server transcodes to adaptive HLS/AAC: instant seek, and it recovers from dropouts without skipping the track.
• Editable queue, persistent shuffle and repeat, and a radio mode that keeps the music going with related tracks when the queue runs out.
• Background playback, with media notification and lock screen controls.

YOUR LIBRARY, AS YOU KEEP IT
• Artists, albums, tracks, genres and playlists — as a list or a grid, per collection type.
• Sort by name, date added, year or artist; filter by genre or show favorites only.
• Long-press anything: play next, add to queue, add to a playlist, start a radio, jump to the album or artist, toggle favorite.
• Create, rename and delete playlists; add, remove and reorder tracks. All written back to the server.
• Global search with results grouped by artist, album, track, playlist and genre.
• A customizable home: pick which carousels you see and in which order.
• Favorites, play counts and now playing are reported to the server, so your library stays in sync with every other client.

OFFLINE, AND AROUND THE HOUSE
• Offline downloads — tracks, albums or whole playlists on the device, playable with the server unreachable. Original quality or AAC to save space, with a screen to see and clear what you have stored.
• Embeat Connect — cast to the DLNA/UPnP devices on your network. Automatic discovery, with playback, volume and position controlled from the phone.

MULTI-SERVER
Add as many Emby and Jellyfin servers as you like — or a mix of both — and switch between them without logging in again.

PRIVACY
Embeat only talks to your server. Credentials are stored encrypted on the device. No analytics, no tracking, no account with us — we never see your library.

SUBSCRIPTION
Embeat is a yearly subscription with a free trial. Every feature, no limits, no ads and no extra tiers. Billed through Google Play; cancel any time from your Play subscriptions.

GOOD TO KNOW
• You need your own Emby or Jellyfin server. Embeat is a client, not a music service: it comes with no content.
• Requires Android 8.0 or later. Designed for phones — no tablet-specific layout yet.
• Not there yet: lyrics, scrobbling to Last.fm/ListenBrainz, crossfade, ReplayGain, Chromecast and automatic server discovery on the local network (you type the server address the first time).

Interface in English, Spanish and Catalan, following your system language.

What’s new

The first release of Embeat for Android.

A native player for your own Emby or Jellyfin server: gapless playback, lossless direct play of FLAC and ALAC, an editable queue and radio mode, background playback, offline downloads, and Embeat Connect for casting to the DLNA devices on your network.

And on tablets, a layout of its own: side navigation, a two-column library, and the queue always in view. In the car, Android Auto.
