Have you used your smartphone recently to draw something while on the go? If you have, then probably not for long, because drawing on a smartphone usually is very imprecise and frustrating. That it is so frustrating really is a shame, because creating quick sketches on the go would be useful in so many situations: capturing ideas, explaining things to strangers and friends via sketches, thinking through complex thoughts, and so much more. So what's the solution - do we all have to buy phones with stylus-support or settle with not being able to draw while on the go? I think neither. Instead, I believe that creative new ideas are needed to improve our everyday digital lives and Draw Companion offers just such an idea for creating quick sketches on the go.

An innovative idea for creating more precise sketches on the go

The main reason why drawing on a phone feels so bad is that your finger covers the very part where you are drawing. Thus, you constantly have to guess where the drawing line currently is. To solve this, Draw Companion introduces a cursor with which you can draw and which isn’t covered by your finger. You can touch anywhere on the screen to move this cursor. To actually start drawing, you quickly tap twice or touch the screen with a second finger from your other hand. Give it a try - it’s a unique new experience and much easier to use than it sounds!

Draw Companion is a free app with ads

My aim is to create software that is actually useful and supportive towards its users. As such, I want to be transparent about what you can expect when downloading Draw Companion. Draw Companion includes a small ad banner at the top and a small watermark on drawings. The watermark can be removed by watching an ad video.

In the future, Draw Companion will be extended with further innovative ideas to make mobile drawing even more precise and useful. Download Draw Companion now to become part of this journey. And please feel free to give me feedback and share Draw Companion with others so I can keep improving it!
