About this app

Photograph the result sheet at your own polling unit. Hawkeye reads it on your phone, signs it with a key that never leaves your device, and publishes it to a public, tamper-evident record anyone can check — so a result cannot be quietly altered on its way to the tally.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Report a polling-unit result — photograph the result sheet and enter the counts. On-device scanning flattens the sheet and reads the numbers to help you fill them in quickly.
• Report an incident — violence, ballot snatching, vote-buying, voter intimidation, BVAS failures and more, with an optional photo or short video. A human reviews every incident before it is published.
• Follow a live leaderboard aggregated from citizen reports.
• Verify the public ledger — every published record is anchored to an independent transparency log, so entries cannot be quietly altered after the fact.
• Practise first — a built-in mock election lets you learn the flow before you report anything real.

HOW IT STAYS HONEST
• Every result is tied to the polling unit and, where you allow it, a GPS fix, so reports can be cross-checked for location plausibility.
• Published records are cryptographically anchored — the ledger is auditable by anyone, not just by us.
• Disputed results are excluded from tallies and can be resolved openly in a public docket.

WHO IT'S FOR
Accredited observers, party agents, journalists and everyday citizens who want an independent, verifiable picture of an election alongside the official one.

Your safety comes first — never put yourself at risk to capture evidence.

Hawkeye is a non-partisan transparency initiative. It does not tell you how to vote and does not favour any candidate or party.

Hawkeye is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), any government agency, or any political party. Hawkeye does not represent a government entity and does not declare election results. All figures in the app are unofficial, crowd-reported observations.

ALSO AVAILABLE
Hawkeye Lite — a much smaller download of the same service, for entry-level Android phones and anyone counting megabytes. Same account, same reports. Choose Hawkeye Lite if your phone is short on space.

Data safety

Safety starts with understanding how developers collect and share your data. Data privacy and security practices may vary based on your use, region, and age. The developer provided this information and may update it over time.

What’s new

Practice now mirrors real reporting exactly: photograph the sheet first, then confirm the unit and race. It reads the polling unit code and sheet serial straight off your photo for you to check, and applies the same location rules as election day — so nothing is new on the day.

You can now try a practice run without an account.

Also: clearer camera permission prompts, and account deletion is easier to find in your profile.
