About this app

With the tax return app you can file your 2024 income tax return.
You retrieve your data with your DigiD. Then you check them. Is everything correct? You can then sign and send your tax return immediately.

The Declaration app can only be used in combination with the DigiD app. The DigiD app must be on the same device and you use the PIN code from the DigD app to open the Declaration app.

Are you filing a tax return with a tax partner? Then your partner also needs the DigiD app on his or her own device.

First check whether you can file a tax return with the app.
That chance is high if you didn't have to change or supplement anything last year, and if your situation has not changed.

You cannot use the tax return app if you:
- did not have the same tax partner for the entire year
- bought or sold your home and therefore had deductible costs
- had a residual debt for a former owner-occupied home
- temporarily rented out your home, for example via Airbnb
- had a business
- had a share in an undivided inheritance
- had income from other work
- lived abroad
- had income from abroad
- had assets abroad
- was a co-parent and your minor child was not registered at your address
- had deductible items, such as donations, healthcare costs or study costs

it makes the whole experience very simple/modern and easy to use! I was pleasantly surprised on how much easier it was to use over the website! 5/5 goes to the very well done design/programming team!! (just one note that could be patched/fixed. when trying to filling my (Digid) Password there is a bug where it wouldn't rise the Password/username (fillable) bars up so I would be able to read/see what I am typing in my Password Bar.)

Easy to use app. One less star because you can only check and approve details the Belastingdienst has on you. If you need to change anything, however small (like recurring donations to an ANBI), you need to manually fill in your taxes (on-line) and you cannot use this app. Since providing details of small recurring donations doesn't change the outcome for me, I just left them as "None present".

Last year the app worked perfectly but this year there was a soft block after updating telling me that I had to update the app even though no update was available forcing me to deinstall and reinstall the app again. When starting it again it gave me no possibility to authenticate using the digid app which is very strange.
