Combine this with the rough conditions of the North Sea and the beautiful, long stretches of beaches that the Netherlands is known for, and you get the journey of journeys. Just as heroic and weather-dependent as the Elfstedentocht, but with crashing waves and a strong southwesterly wind. Sail along with your best kite buddies and hundreds of other kiters during the coolest trip you’ve ever done. To top it all off and give your adventure even more meaning, all participants aim to raise 1,500 euros in sponsorship money for the Heart Foundation. With the amount raised, we will contribute to life-saving research. A lot of money is needed for this! The wind window for the 8th edition is from August 22 to November 1, 2026. This means that, with the right conditions, Hoek tot Helder will take place on the first day within this period. The wind window applies 7 days a week.
