About this app

Immich is a self hosted backup solution for photos and videos, more information here: https://immich.app. Current features of Immich include:

- Upload and view videos and photos
- Auto backup when the app is opened
- Selective album(s) for backup
- Multi-user support
- Album and Shared albums

This unofficial Android TV app (it's not developed by the official Immich team) will allow you to view those uploaded photos and videos. Current features include:

- Login screen to set hostname + API key or sign in by phone!
- Demo environment if you want to try it before adding credentials
- Album fetching + Lazy loading
- Photos/Videos in Album fetching + Lazy loading
- Random/Seasonal/Recent/Person photos/videos
- Showing the picture of a selected asset/album as the background
- Slideshow of the photos/videos
- Playing the slideshow with a configured interval.
- Sorting of albums/photos

Still in development, but already with very useful features. This is a must have app for immich users. Many thanks for the developer!

The app is a bit barebones in its current state, but even now this is a must-have app for Immich users. It brings me a surprising amount of joy to see my family's pictures in their full glory on a large 4K display, and all without having to cast anything from my phone. Kudos to the developer!

Major difficulties in setting it up on the TV with the API key. Will continue to research the problem but the app is very welcome. I think it will be nice to sit with family and friends and watch some photos from years gone by.

What’s new

- Add option in View Settings to always use original video quality instead of transcoded one
- Fix issue in video playing not properly highlighting the video controls the first time its opened
- Fix issue with loading video multiple times
- Show a message whenever the video will not load
