Wolfreader is a quiet reader for your own ebooks and comics. You point it at a folder on your device and the rest happens by itself: titles, authors, series and covers are pulled out of the files themselves, and you carry on where you left off.
Built for the Galaxy Z Fold 8
Wolfreader was built and tested on a Galaxy Z Fold 8 and uses that device the way it was meant to be used. Unfold it, turn it sideways, and you get two pages next to each other with the gap between them sitting exactly on the hinge, calculated from the real position and width of the fold. No letter and no drawing disappears into the crease. Turn back to portrait and it becomes a single page again, so a quarter turn is your switch. Folding and unfolding never costs you your place: the app is not restarted and your sentence stays where it was. The narrow cover screen gets a proper layout of its own.
Works on every foldable
The hinge position is asked of Android itself, not looked up in a list of devices. Every foldable phone that reports its hinge properly gets the same two page layout: the other Galaxy Z Fold models, but equally a Pixel Fold, a OnePlus Open or an Honor Magic V. So far it has been tested on the Z Fold 8; the other models run the same code. On an ordinary phone or a tablet it works fine too, where the screen width simply decides whether you get one page or two.

Everything stays yours
Wolfreader has no internet access. There is no account, no advertising, no subscription and nothing is collected or sent anywhere. Your files are only read, never moved, changed or deleted.
Worth knowing beforehand
- Books with copy protection (Adobe DRM, Kobo, Kindle) cannot be opened. Wolfreader only reads your own unprotected files.
- CBR files in the newer RAR5 format cannot be unpacked; no open reader for that format exists. The app tells you so plainly. Convert such a file to CBZ and it works straight away. CBR in RAR4 opens fine.
- PDF stays a set of page images. Text does not reflow to your text size there; the format simply cannot do it.
Wolfreader is made in the Netherlands. The interface is available in English and Dutch.
