About this app

Jamfinder shows where jamming is taking place in the Netherlands this week: open mic nights, blues jams, and sessions in cafes, music venues, and community centers. You can see which nights are in your area, sign up with the instrument you bring, and in the venue, your own screen tells you when it's your turn to play.

Find a jam nearby
The schedule shows what's coming up each day, along with the distance. You set how far you are willing to travel: 10, 25, 50, or 100 kilometers from your home. For each night, the venue, time, genre, whether a house band is playing, and the lineup are already coming are listed. Filter by genre, or by the nights where your instrument is welcome.

Sign up with your instrument
One tap on "Play along" and the host knows you are coming and what you play. You can see if there is already a drummer, or if a bassist is being sought. If you can't make it after all, you simply cancel and the spot goes to someone else. If anything changes regarding an evening you signed up for — cancelled or rescheduled — you will receive a notification. The app does not send any other notifications than that, plus one overview per week.

In the venue, you know when it's your turn
A poster with a code hangs at the bar. Scan it with the app and you are in the venue. From that moment on, you see the setlist, which spots are still available per song, and where you stand in the queue. When it's your turn, your screen turns amber and your phone vibrates — even if it's lying on a table in a dark café. One sentence, two buttons, nothing else.

The session leader keeps track of the queue
Whoever leads the evening queues songs with their title and key, sees who is inside and on which instrument, and calls the next person with a single tap. Musicians sign themselves up for an open spot; what remains empty is visible to everyone in the room. For cafes, venues, and community centers
Create a business account, add your business with name and address, and enter your regular night once: "every first Tuesday, 20:00". After that, it will automatically appear in the calendar and on jamfinder.nl. You can see in advance who is coming and with what lineup. Canceling one night does not affect the rest of the series. The app creates a poster with your business's QR code, ready to print; that code remains valid, so you don't have to hang up a new one every week. You can delegate the management of the calendar to an administrator without sharing your password.

For which instrument
Vocals, guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, double bass, percussion, harmonica, accordion, banjo, DJ, and sound engineering. Genres from blues and rock to jazz, funk, folk, Latin, reggae, and Dutch-language music.

What we keep of yours
As little as possible. Your email address, your name, your city, and your instruments. Never your home address, no date of birth, no phone number. There is no advertising network in the app, and nothing is tracked for third parties. Your data is stored encrypted on a server in the European Union. In Settings, you download everything as a single file and delete your account in one go.

Only the Netherlands, only Dutch
Cities and addresses are converted using the Dutch government's address service, which does not recognize foreign addresses. The app is in Dutch.

The calendar is still growing
Jamfinder is new. It is filling up with the cafes and venues that add their regular nights. If your local pub isn't listed yet, ask them to add it — or add it yourself if you are organizing a jam session.
