Do you see an animal in your house or garden, and you don't know what it is? Look closely and discover it in the Animal Finder!
In the Animal Finder you will find the most common Dutch domestic, garden and kitchen animals. These are animals from the direct living environment of humans. Animals in urban nature, such as gardens and parks, but also indoors: the spider in your bathroom, the woodlice in the basement. By answering questions about the animal you found (for example about color, behavior, number of legs) you can eventually name it and learn more about it.
At the moment you can find about four hundred animals, including all kinds of birds, mammals, flies and mosquitoes, spiders, woodlice, centipedes and millipedes, butterflies, bees and bumblebees, ants, grasshoppers and crickets, true bugs, cicadas, dragonflies, amphibians (frogs , toads, salamanders), beetles, worms, snails, fish and various ditch bugs.
The Animal Search is an initiative of Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Het Klokhuis (NTR) and EIS Knowledge Center Insects.
