About this game

KlankKr8 is the innovative way to learn letters, based on powerful scientific insights. With KlankKr8 you give your students a solid foundation in preparatory and initial reading education and you can continue to support students when reading is difficult. This app is part of the KlankKr8 school subscription.

The serious game KlankKr8 is the result of ten years of scientific research into letter learning and the use of games for this. The app helps in a playful way to make the brain more sensitive to sound-sign links, so that they are better remembered. This is the ideal preparation for learning to read. Because the game is adaptive, every student receives an offer appropriate to the level and the game is also suitable for children who have difficulty reading and could use a helping hand.

In KlankKr8, the student experiences an exciting adventure with Sara and the Astronaut. Their mission: to return the adorable Loenies to their home planets. But there's one problem... the star has exploded and all the bits of sound power are scattered across the planets. It is up to the student, together with Sara and the Astronaut, to collect all the sound power and thus bring the Loenies home safely.

During this adventure, children learn new letters and sounds every day, while bringing the Loenies home and collecting 350+ fun word pictures. KlankKr8 is not only great fun to play, but also very educational.

Your students practice independently and at their own pace, the speaking astronaut shows them the way through the game. Each sound is introduced extensively, with attention to what the letter looks like, how the sound sounds and how you pronounce it. Subsequently, the sounds are practiced in different ways, in which practicing sounds in the context of words is an important aspect. Children learn the links even better by intensively working with the form. That's why they also write the shapes of the letters in the app with their finger, a rocket shows them the way.

With a personal player code, students can also continue playing at home (at no extra cost). Progress at home and at school is synchronized and as a teacher you can continuously see the progress and bottlenecks in the LeerKr8 portal.
