Welcome to HalalSkanner 2.0
HalalSkanner 2.0 makes it even easier to find halal alternatives in Norway. We have upgraded the app from a simple barcode scanner to a complete guide for both food products and dining places.
Here is what you can do:
AI Analysis
If a product is missing from the database, the app can read the ingredient list for you.
Take a photo: Scan the ingredient list directly with the camera. The app checks the text for E-numbers and additives.
Get answers: You receive an explanation of why an ingredient may be problematic and an assessment of whether it is safe.
Adapted to your needs: The app takes into account that halal can be interpreted differently.
Choose school of thought: Set your preference in your profile (Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki, or Hanbali).
Automatic status: The app shows the status of products based on your selected school. If there is no specific rule, we show the standard assessment.
Dining places and Restaurants
Find safe places to eat.
Certifications: Look for the Gold icon for places we have manually checked (alcohol-free policy, kitchen routines), or the IRN badge for places with official certification.
Overview: Quickly see whether a place is 100% halal, serves alcohol, or has a partially halal menu.
Profile and Contributions
Help us improve the database.
Leaderboard: See who contributes the most in the app.
Statistics: Keep track of how many products you have scanned or submitted.
Submit: Add new products or updates directly from your profile.
Quality and Troubleshooting
We make it clear what type of information you are viewing.
Verification: We label information as “Verified” (checked by humans), “AI-checked” (analyzed by the app), or “Not verified”.
Report: Found an error? Let us know directly in the app so we can fix it.
