About this app

Bussenmin makes it easier to plan, track and share your public transport journey. See vehicles in real time on the map, find departures and stops, plan your journey and get relevant information before and during the journey. The most important travel features can be used without an account.

Passenger features

- See buses in real time in most counties in Norway
- Search for a bus with the four-digit internal number
- Select a bus line and see all vehicles available in the real-time data for the line
- Also see trains, trams, subways and ferries in real time when the data source offers it
- Follow a selected vehicle directly on the map, and choose whether the vehicle should point to the top of the screen
- Find nearby stops and see upcoming departures
- Plan journeys by bus, train and ferry, with times and route options
- Save favourite routes and favourite stops
- See departures in real time and get optional push notifications before departure
- Open a vehicle to see, among other things, the route, next stop, delay, distance and reported capacity when data is available
- Read traffic messages for lines and areas
- Show fare zones and selected travel routes on the map
- Find and add Friends
- Send end-to-end encrypted messages
- Register that you are on board and see other users who have chosen to be visible on the same vehicle
- Give anonymous trip reviews with optional comment and photo
- Send anonymous praise when an active driver is available in the app
- Choose which notifications you want to receive
- Turn on "Keep screen on" when you want the screen to remain active while Bussenmin is in use
- Manage privacy settings, export data or delete your account

Driver features

Approved drivers can activate their own features in the app:

- Switch between passenger and driver mode
- Show first name and profile picture while registered as an active driver on a vehicle
- Create and send driver messages with ready-made templates, custom text, optional photo and selected duration
- Save your own driver messages for later use
- See statistics on anonymous praise from passengers
- Find other approved drivers, handle colleague requests and receive automatic colleague greetings when the feature is enabled

Accessibility for everyone

- Use a linear, screen reader-friendly app mode with TalkBack support
- Use Live Board and Trip Planning in Narrator Mode
- Get persistent status notifications, clearer focus and keyboard navigation, landscape screen support, and improved language support in Live Board
- Use a customized, easier-to-read flow for sign-in, account creation, password reset, and sign-out
- Manage settings for Narrator Mode and the Bussenmin button from separate, accessible settings pages
- Select a specific departure or scheduled trip for the Bussenmin button to follow
- Get clearer information about stops, platforms, departures, routes, and vehicles in Narrator Mode
- For users with access to the Button Assistant, a physical Bussenmin button can read out stop, platform, departure, and trip information
- In onboard mode, the Bussenmin button reads out next and upcoming stops, as well as relevant driver messages
- On Android, the Button Assistant can work in the background and after the app is swiped away from the recent apps overview, as long as the necessary setup and permissions are in place completed

Mobility & Traffic

- Find shared e-scooters, bikes, and cars in available areas
- See reported availability, battery or range, price, and operator link when data is available
- See current and planned road closures and selected road traffic information on the map

Real-time information is based on data from transportation providers and may be delayed or missing. Availability of certain features varies by platform, account, region, and data source.
