Buypass' application extends strong identification and electronic signatures for existing Buypass customers in the Norwegian market to Android users. The application will in most cases be invoked by selected third-party applications such as eGovernment and eHealth which need to get hold of users' identity. The application may also be used for authorizing a small-amount payments from a Buypass account. A Buypass account is an e-money account compliant to the Norwegian and European Economic Area (EEA) legislation and regulations. The user will only be prompted with a PIN-code to fulfill the security operations.

By tapping on the desktop icon, the user is presented with functionality for managing its Buypass account. In this view the user may associate a Norwegian payment card to withdraw funds from a bank account or deposit money to the same account.
