About this app

Commander and the rest of the crew must acquire and evaluate large amounts of information when selecting a safe and suitable landing area, weather conditions, tension and obstacles, objects on the ground, topography and more. Emergency services are important resource for helicopter crews, but may have limited and varying training and knowledge of the subject.

This app is intended to provide emergency services even better positioned to provide helicopter crew important information, communicate weather conditions, prepare a suitable landing area, take down the helicopter at the accident site, and help the crew with efficient transhipment or loading patient, and helping to ensure for safe take off. Initiator Trond Vigerust (rescuer Norwegian Air Ambulance AS) and Marius Malmo (flyer in Norwegian Air Ambulance AS) has created content and ensured quality by, among others, fleet operation management and Safety Manager at Norwegian Air Ambulance AS. The companies Computas and New Graphics traded content, data and scenarios with the app you now hold in your hand.

The app is funded by the Foundation Norwegian Air Ambulance and are basically made for emergency services, educational institutions and NGOs. It contains, however, no secrets, so anyone who wants is welcome to download and use it, even if you have no connection with the audience described above.
