The Bible is the book that gathers the Word of God. It is divided into two sections, the Old and the New Testament.

The New Testament is the part of the Bible that was written after Christ and represents the new covenant of men with God. The New Testament books are the testimony of Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven.

The New Testament is written in Greek, the common language of the time of the Greco-Roman civilization and revolves around the message of Jesus.

It is made up of 27 books, divided into writings: the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, Letters of St. Paul, Letter to the Hebrews, General Letters and Revelation.

• The Gospels were written by Jesus' disciples: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They relate the life, work, doctrine, passion, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus.

• The Acts of the Apostles were written by Luke and relate events in the history of the early Christian Church.

• In the Letters of St. Paul we find teachings for the present Church about salvation and how to have a holy life. They are: Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon.

• General Letters include the Letter to the Hebrews written by Paul and other letters written by other apostles: Peter, John, James, and Judas. They are: Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Judas

• Revelation is the last book of the Bible and was written by John, one of the apostles most closely associated with Jesus, and shows what the end times will be like, the triumph of good over evil, the salvation of the righteous, and the condemnation of sinners.
