Current affairs in Politiken, AiP, is a news magazine that primarily contains news, but also reports, analyses, comments and debate. Since 1999, we have been part of AiP Media Produktion AB, which is a subsidiary of the Social Democrats.

Since 2024, we have broadened our news coverage, and in addition to Swedish national, international and local politics, we also report on working life/labor market, the economy, welfare, climate, people's movements/civil society and culture.

The magazine is based on a labor movement foundation, which characterizes the selection and often angle of the news space, in analyses and reviews. This means that we primarily write about things that are relevant from a labor movement perspective, but based on news evaluation rather than any organization's priorities.

The editorial page is labeled independent social democratic. The political editor and other editorial writers write from an editorial independence that characterizes the entire magazine. This means that the Social Democrats as owners have no influence over what is written and published.
