Turn your phone into a complete off-road 4x4 dashboard.

Off-Road Clinometer combines a real-time inclinometer with compass, GPS, speed, weather, map, trip recording and replay tools for off-road driving, overlanding, 4x4 vehicles and slope monitoring.

PITCH, ROLL & SLOPE

Mount the phone securely and calibrate it on a level surface. The app then displays vehicle pitch and roll in real time, together with slope values in degrees and percentage.

Set independent pitch and roll warning limits and receive visual, sound and voice alerts when the selected limits are reached. Calibration can be stored separately for portrait and landscape use, and the clinometer direction can be reversed when required by the mounting position.

COMPASS, SPEED & LOCATION

Use the compass to monitor heading. A speedometer displays speed in km/h or mph.

With location permission enabled, the app can also show GPS coordinates, current location, local map, route position and local weather, including temperature, conditions and wind information.


MAP & FLOATING OVERLAY

The map provides a visual reference for your location and route.

An optional floating overlay can keep important information visible above compatible navigation apps. Depending on available space, it can show pitch, roll, slope, speed, weather and coordinates while leaving most of the navigation screen visible.

TRIPS & ROUTE RECORDING

Record off-road trips and keep them in the Trips section. Saved trips can contain route, orientation and weather data, with trip duration and distance.

Trips can be replayed later. During route replay, the app synchronizes recorded position with pitch/roll and weather information and shows progress on the map.

Routes can be exported and shared as GPX files.

VIDEO TRIPS

The app also supports trips with video. Video segments can be replayed together with trip data, exported to the Movies collection or shared using Android's share system.

Configure the dashboard to match your vehicle and preferences:

Vehicle, colors, alarm settings, calibration, sound, voice and display preferences are stored locally and synchronized with the floating overlay.

ALERTS & CONTROLS

Configure pitch and roll limits, alarm sensitivity, visual warnings, sound alerts, voice warnings, warning text, speech rate and available alarm sounds.

SENSOR & LOCATION INFORMATION

The basic clinometer uses the motion and orientation sensors available in your Android device. GPS permission is not required for basic pitch and roll measurement.

Location access is used only for features such as speed, coordinates, map and local weather. Weather data requires an internet connection.

Compass accuracy can be affected by magnetic phone holders, metal objects, vehicle electronics and other magnetic interference.

CALIBRATION

For best results, secure the phone firmly, place the vehicle on a level surface and press Calibrate. Do not move the phone inside the holder after calibration. Recalibrate whenever the mounting position changes.

SAFETY

Off-Road Clinometer is an information and assistance tool and does not replace professional measuring, navigation or vehicle safety equipment.

Pitch, roll and slope values do not guarantee that a route, obstacle or manoeuvre is safe. Always respect your vehicle's limits.

Do not interact with the phone while driving. Install the device and holder securely and make sure they do not obstruct visibility, controls or airbags.

Ratings and reviews

Worthless, doesn't work at all. As soon as your device rotates it will lose its center and consistently loses its zero. Don't download, I've tried on multiple devices and none work. Wish I could give a 0 of 5. (Additon to the dev response. "There is a lm invisible button" There is no button, and when attached to a vehicle or even handling in a controlled environment it is useless... do not download.)

Good app, unfortunately the degree and percentage indicators are small, I think it would be better if they were bigger, so we don't have to put our heads close to the device to see the numbers.

Excellent app with very fast response from developer. I'd highly recommend buying this.
