About this app

APRS Vector – Your ultimate mobile APRS terminal integrated with Android Auto.

APRS Vector brings the power of the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) directly to your vehicle's dashboard. Designed for ham radio enthusiasts and emergency communicators, this app provides a high-performance, map-based interface for tracking stations, exchanging messages, and monitoring telemetry safely while you drive.

🚗 Seamless Android Auto Integration

No more fumbling with small radio screens. APRS Vector offers a native Android Auto experience with a full-screen map, touch-friendly controls, and dashboard notifications, ensuring you stay connected without compromising road safety.

🛠️ Key Features:

Real-Time Live Map: View nearby APRS stations plotted in real-time. Customize station symbols and use call-sign filtering to focus on what matters most.

Two-Way Messaging: Send and receive APRS text messages directly from your car's head unit. Instant notifications keep you informed of incoming traffic.

Bluetooth & Kenwood NMEA Support: Connect seamlessly to external radios or GPS devices via Bluetooth. The app parses NMEA streams and forwards data to the APRS network efficiently.

Built-in AFSK Audio Support: Use the integrated AFSK (Audio Frequency-Shift Keying) modem to encode and decode packets over audio. Turn your device into a virtual radio interface by connecting it to a radio’s audio port.

Station Grouping: Organize your contacts, friends, or local repeaters into groups for quick access and streamlined tracking.

Privacy & Stealth Mode: Choose your own SSID symbol and toggle your call-sign visibility on the map to maintain your preferred level of privacy.

Offline Caching: Designed for the road—symbol bitmaps and recent station data are cached to ensure a smooth UI even when traveling through areas with low bandwidth.

🔒 Data Privacy & Security:

Your privacy is our priority. APRS Vector does not upload personal data to private servers. All APRS traffic is relayed directly between your radio hardware and the APRS network.

🚀 Quick Start Guide:

Pair your Bluetooth APRS radio or NMEA device in the app’s Settings.

Connect your phone to your car and launch Android Auto.

Open the APRS Vector icon to start seeing live stations on your dashboard.

Audio Mode: For audio-based APRS, enable the AFSK plugin and connect via your device’s microphone/speaker jack.

Note: A valid Amateur Radio license is required to transmit on APRS frequencies. External hardware (Radio/TNC) is required for RF-based communication
