About this app

OpenWay is an application designed to guide autonomously Visual Impaired people on urban routes or for treks. The specificity of this "inertial" application gives a proper orientation in real time focused on the next waypoint even if the user turns around. Furthermore, a user can be hesitating between different paths and the fact that the application gives the correct orientation in real-time guides the user to his destination efficiently.

Recommanded minimal version of Android : 6.0.1
Necessary sensors : magnetometer, accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS.
Recommanded Phones : Samsung Galaxy S5, S7 and +.
Be aware that the application have not been tested on other models and brands.
Please notice that the vocal capture bug on Android 8 will be fixed in the next version.
