About this app

The OFFICIAL ABRSM Clarinet Practice Partner is a simple way to make practising pieces for your exams more musical, enjoyable and fun.

Use Clarinet Practice Partner to practise with the piano accompaniment, the clarinet part in isolation, or the duo ensemble recording. The app will help you to:

• Become familiar with the accompaniment and understand how the solo line fits with the piano part for more secure performances.
• Make practice more musical and enjoyable by having a virtual clarinet partner to play along with.
• Slow down or speed up the music to a tempo that suits you, for slow careful practice.
• Listen closely to the clarinet in isolation to hear every detail of the expert performance.
• Set loops to repeat parts of your piece if you need to focus on one section.
• Improve your control and general technique, helping you to become a more fluent performer.
• Learn to memorise your music for more secure performances.

I use this app every day with my students. It's very rare to get through a two minute piece without it stuttering, completely crashing, or piano and clarinet being out of sync. I can now no longer start a piece in the middle. The only reason I continue to use it is that I think it is such a good idea, the performers ABRSM use are excellent and I'm hopeful that ABRSM will eventually do something about it. John.

Considering the dismal reviews I am really impressed with it, they must have ironed out a few bits now. I didn't mind paying for the tracks, ABRSM are a charity organisation...be kind!! I like that you can switch between accompaniment and instrument and slow it right down...a scales one would be great actually!! Hint, hint!!

Got this app this morning and it keeps crashing. The tracks I have downloaded for my son to practice to won't play. I have to keep turning my phone off and on again to reboot the app. Please help. Was great when we got it working!
