About this app

The OFFICIAL ABRSM Violin Practice Partner is a simple way to make practising pieces for your exams more musical, enjoyable and fun. It is useful for anyone learning or teaching pieces from the NEW ABRSM Violin Exam Pieces from 2024. Selected Violin Exam Pieces from the 2020-2023 and 2016–2019 syllabus are also available to purchase in-app.

Use Violin Practice Partner to practise with the piano accompaniment, the violin part in isolation, or the duo ensemble recording. The app will help you to:
• Become familiar with the accompaniment and understand how the solo line fits with the piano part for more secure performances.
• Make practice more musical and enjoyable by having a virtual violin partner to play along with.
• Slow down or speed up the music to a tempo that suits you, for slow careful practice.
• Listen closely to the violin in isolation to hear every detail of the expert performance.
• Repeat tricky passages by setting loops around them.

Violin Practice Partner comes with an example piece from Grade 4 and Grade 8 of the NEW ABRSM Violin Exam Pieces from 2024, allowing you to experience the app before purchasing any piece. In app you can purchase:

I just bought a set of pieces but when I try to download them it says error downloading. I tried on WiFi and not on WiFi. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and trying again. Same error. I sent an email and a form to the technical support but it now 5 days later and still no reply at all. Update : issue now fixed, thank you.

Just purchased 3 grade 7 pieces but they don't show in the app. When I want to "restore" my pieces, the message is "no pieces to restore. All your pieces are downloaded to your device". How can I import them? Update: pieces are working great the following morning. Still have trouble changing the character but can do without it. Being able to slow the pieces down is priceless!

Great concept, needs development. I think the app could do with forcing the phone to stay unlocked. If I need to rewind or replay a section, I have to put my instrument down so I can unlock the screen. It's quite frustrating. Also, it has no override on the sound output. It will just play the audio on top of any other audio playing. Like the phone ringing for example. It should mute all other apps and systems. Other than that, I think the concept of what this app does is great.
