EDASC is a study, work, and networking tool for set designers, costume designers, and interior decorators, professionals in the film, audiovisual, and theater industries, students from art academies and institutes, as well as artisans, suppliers, tour operators, and enthusiasts.
It is a bilingual application, created by Tiziana Amicuzi ASC and Francesca Romana Buffetti, director of Scenografia&Costume, and developed by the start-up Onda Theta.
It also includes "A Spasso con... ASC," a section designed as a veritable destination/map ideal for film tourism.
The goal is to promote Made in Italy and its artisanal heritage not only as a history of cinema, but also as a resource for cultural tourism. It allows tourists and enthusiasts to follow itineraries linked to famous films, discovering historic tailoring shops, artisan workshops, and filming locations, including through the use of virtual and augmented reality.
EDASC is not only a showcase for current professionals, but also a vital historical preservation tool thanks to the digitization of its collections and collaboration with leading organizations. It was created specifically to save a vast amount of ephemeral materials (sketches, costume designs, notes) from dispersion, which would otherwise be lost.
The trade association, founded within ASC in 1977, has brought together and represented key professionals in the audiovisual and live entertainment sectors in Italy. Its mission is twofold: to protect the profession and promote talent and training. ASC's members include leading international professionals, including Giorgio Armani, an honorary member, and Academy Award winners Francesca Lo Schiavo, Milena Canonero, Dante Ferretti, Gabriella Pescucci, and Piero Tosi.
