Scripture A Day is a home screen widget that provides you inspirational LDS scriptures each day. Check out the Big Print version for emailing and browsing the daily scriptures.

In a single tap, on the widget, the verse will open in Gospel Library (make sure you have the latest version of Gospel Library installed).

This application does NOT open - it is a widget and must be dragged onto a home screen.

I love this widget and have used it continuously for more than a decade now. Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution! I should note that after my device updated to Android 15, the widget stopped updating each day. That's been a common problem for widgets on this latest Android version, not sure why. Hopefully you are able to find a solution, but for now it's helping me memorize scriptures until I remove and re-add the widget once a week. :-)

Edit: The app widget disapeared and reinstalling it isn't working after 3+ years of using it :( Sometimes I don't have time to study my scriptures, so it's great to have a different daily scripture right on the home screen of my device! My only suggestion: I've noticed that it seems to be the same scriptures repeated each year. I know there are more than 365 good scriptures out there (especially with the Book of Mormon included...). Could there be more scriptures please?

Nearly unreadable. The widget is set to a 2x2 space, but I couldn't find a way to change that. No customization for font size, which was so small I could hardly read it. (Which would be less of a problem if text used the whole space allotted.) The icon on the widget covered part of the text as well. Disappointing. Great idea, but not practically useable.
