About this app

As a student of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) have you ever spent time studying your lesson in the morning only to forget to review it at the suggested time intervals during the day? Have you ever wished that you had reminders, preset at the required time intervals, to jog your memory? Have you ever remembered to review a Workbook lesson from A Course in Miracles but forgot what words to use? If so, then this app is for you!
In addition to providing convenient access to the full text of the 365 daily lessons from the Workbook for Students section of A Course in Miracles, THIS APP HAS BUILT-IN REMINDER ALERTS that tells you when it is time to review and repeat your lesson. With each reminder alert that is sounded, the text specified to be remembered for the daily lesson ("reminder text") is presented. You have the option to accept the alert intervals specified in the Workbook of A Course of Miracles or you can choose an alert interval that fits in with your daily schedule.

The app is simple to use. To begin, you select the lesson you are currently working on and either choose the time interval suggested in A Course in Miracles for the reminders, or a time interval that is most convenient to you. You can then choose to go to the Full Text of the ACIM Workbook lesson or you can go to the Reminder Text where you can review the affirmation provided within the lesson to be remembered during the day. If you wish, you can customize the wording of the reminder text. You select your beginning text only once. The app remembers which lesson you are currently working on and each time you return you will be presented with the same lesson. This allows you to review the current lesson, or move on to your next daily lesson. The complete Workbook section of A Course in Miracles, including Introductions and Reviews, can be accessed from the app. During the day, the shortened reminder text (the affirmation within the ACIM Workbook lesson to be used as the reminder that day) is presented when the reminder alert is sounded. You can choose what sound you’d like to hear for reminder, the time of day you wish the reminders to start, and the time of day you wish them to end.

About A Course in Miracles:

A Course in Miracles teaching is based on the practice of forgiveness as the key to inner peace and the remembrance of God. While the app contains the text of the complete "Workbook for Students" section from A Course in Miracles, it represents only part of the Course, a unique self-study metaphysical thought system. Published in one volume, "A Course in Miracles" consists of three separate sections: "Text," "Workbook for Students" and the "Manual for Teachers." The "Text" section of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) sets forth the theoretical concepts of the A Course in Miracles (ACIM) thought system and thus provides the necessary framework to clarify the meaning of the ACIM Workbook exercises. It is therefore important to undertake the lessons in this app in conjunction with the writings within A Course in Miracles.

A Course in Miracles was received in its entirety over a period of seven years by psychologist Dr. Helen Schucman through an inspired process she described as scribing. In 1975 the Foundation for Inner Peace, co-publisher of this app, was chosen by Dr. Schucman to be the publisher of the only original edition of A Course in Miracles.

The "Workbook for Students" section of A Course in Miracles contained in this app, includes 365 lessons which are designed to train your mind in a systematic way to a different perception of everyone and everything in the world. As stated in the Introduction to the Workbook section of A Course in Miracles: “The exercises are very simple. They do not require a great deal of time, and it does not matter where you do them. They need no preparation.” You are asked only to not undertake to do more than one exercise a day. You might however choose to remain with a particularly appealing lesson for more than one day.

Been using this app for years and when it became pay, I had no problem coughing up the money. I do love the app, easy to use get to text or reminder, set the reminders for the day, see when the reminders will go off... It's a good app and used to work perfectly. I was no longer getting the full text. It was spotty once I upgraded to pay version, but then text stopped loading. I had to uninstall and reinstall and now it seems to be working Worth the money for me

This app has been a Godsend for keeping me on track and reminding me to practice my lessons. There are a couple of issues however that I hope the developer can address. First, if the timer is counting down and the orientation of the phone changes, the timer reverts back to the countdown button and you can no longer see the timer. Second, you cannot minimize the reminder screen after you've opened it. It simply disappears and does not stay in memory. That said, thank you for this app. I need it.

I've been using this app for just a few weeks and I'm still getting clear on where some options are. Perhaps I should have read directions more fully. A friend is having difficulty figuring out how to set notifications up as well. I'm not certain I'm always hearing the alerts I set up. Still working it out and I absolutely love the way it is set up with full text, reminder text, and the options for the duration of my practice periods, and more. So grateful a friend recommended this to me.
