About this app

All Against The Fire! notifies you about fires detected in an area of your
interest. It helps the early detection of fires and facilitates local
mobilization while the professional extinction services arrive.

HOW IT WORKS
• Pick the area you want to watch.
• Get notified when a heat spot is detected in that area.
• See active fires on the map, with their location and time.
• Share an alert to mobilise people around you.

DATA
Heat spots come from six sensors, from NASA FIRMS and NOAA GOES:
• MODIS Collection 6.1 (Terra + Aqua), 1 km — MCD14DL NRT
• VIIRS 375 m (Suomi NPP) — VNP14IMGTDL NRT
• VIIRS 375 m (NOAA-20) — VJ114IMGTDL NRT
• VIIRS 375 m (NOAA-21) — VJ214IMGTDL NRT
• ABI Fire/Hot Spot Characterization (GOES-19, GOES-East), 2 km, the Americas only — ABI-L2-FDCF
• ABI Fire/Hot Spot Characterization (GOES-18, GOES-West), 2 km, the Americas only — ABI-L2-FDCF

What’s new

The map on the watched-areas screen had been left with the old backdrop, the
one showing "API KEY REQUIRED" stamped over every tile. It now uses the same
grey map as the rest of the app.

And the credits name all six sources the heat spots come from, not four: the
four NASA FIRMS sensors plus the two NOAA GOES satellites, which watch the
Americas every ten minutes. You will find them under "About".
