A free, complete and portable I Ching Oracle for Android OS. Includes full description of all hexagrams and changing lines, governing lines, constituent lines, history feature, themes and uses network to download definitions in order to be extra light weight. Once downloaded, readings definitions are available offline.

Allows to use a custom dictionary inherited from the default one to personalize the hexagrams interpretation. When put in offline mode, after a complete download, all dictionaries become accessible without the need of an internet connection.

Uses the three coins method to cast hexagrams, by randomly generating coin toss or by manual input. Allows to choose whether to evaluate changing lines by manual interpretation or by using either Master Yin or Nanjing algorithm.

Readings can be saved in different histories and there is the possibility to password protect the access to those files. Otherwise, each section of the reading can be shared toward other applications that read HTML.

Ratings and reviews

I was being mean to it, and so this is a bug report, and not really a review. I gave it 4 stars so as not to disturb the average rating much. I denied it access to my files, photos and something else, and my flash card is full. The app went into a rapid, uninterruptable loop while it tried and failed over and over again to write a history file to my SD card, and then stopped running. Shouldn't have crashed. Should have said it can't run without permissions, or should have told me card was full

App is great in theory, uses the whillhelm translation which idk why isn't more common on these, can cast the coins 3 by 3/line by line, the main issue is that the changing lines have become messed up, so for example in hex 38, line 2 will instead show the text for line 1, in others line 6 will show the line 1 text, doesn't always happen and I can't seem to figure out if there's a pattern. It's pretty annoying though and a very easy fix, still the most sane of these apps by far but doublecheck.

A great I hing app. I have been using the I Ching for about 45 years, and mobile apps since smartphones have been in use. This is by far the best one I have found. The interpretations are excellent and the interface is brilliant. I like the ability to choose the method of changing line choice interpretations, being able to have the readings in the cloud or just locally on my device, and the ability to delete individual hexagrams or the complete history at once. Kudos to the developer!
