Simple to use, and files are saved to the device (not to the cloud). It would be nice to be able to tweak the capture - I noticed it tended to cut-off the edges sometimes if the paper wasn't perfectly flat (as happens for mailed items). Another bonus is no ads, which more than makes up for some of its shortcomings.

Awesome, lives up to its name. Thanks for making this and it being free/ad-free! Feels like simple processing presets, such as threshold that makes a document pure black/white, stronger levels to do something similar, but for documents with some color. Basically Normal, Greyscale, B/W. That wouldn't fill the UI up too much and would be a neat addition.

I started using FairScan to photo documents into a pdf. Downloaded from F-Droid. This is simple and very effective-no fluff, just does what it's supposed to do. Selecting the save directory is very helpful (not an option in some others I tried). It's useful to be able to save the pdf then keep adding pages in stages. The automatic document detection is great for automatically cropping-is there a way to toggle that on/off so you could scan pages with text, then a photograph, then text to the pdf?

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad FairScan works well for you. I'm not sure I fully understand your question about mixing text pages and photos. Feel free to send more details to contact@fairscan.org and I'll be happy to discuss it.
