About this app

Two tools for visualizing sound.

A stroboscopic tuner. You tell it which note you are aiming for, and then it will show you a red/green bar indicating how close you are coming to hitting it. Perfectly horizontal means you are in tune, sloping down is flat, and sloping up is sharp.

An FFT spectrum analyzer. You can see how the complete spectrum evolves over time.

TunerTime is not the simplest tuner to use, but it is probably the most precise, and it has features particularly useful for piano tuners.

This is the most obsessively engineered phone tuner possible! Fantastic for instrument set up, with theoretically more precision then you could ever need. I have used it with external microphones, and have been very impressed. Read the software manual (link in the program description) and you will come to find it very intuitive and easy-to-use. Messing with this tuner and banjos at the same time will lead to immense of amounts of frustration. Give it a shot.

Best android tuner I have ever used. Not super intuitive, but very precise. For those who are confused about how to use it. Set the note and watch to see if the bands are rising (sharp) or falling (flat). Only missing feature is auto-ranging. I want to update my review and say that this tuner is even more precise than any other tuner I have ever used. Better than Peterson strobe tuners as they struggle with the low B string on my bass guitar.

This will please and intrigue the musical geeks out there like myself. While I still prefer the original free strobe tuner app with its traditional strobe wheel, it's gone from Google Play. This is the next best thing. A very well-written piece of software.
