"The Twelve Trials" is a 160,000 word interactive fantasy novel by Douglas DiCicco, and won third place in The Choice of Games Contest for Interactive Novels. It’s entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Absolutely let down by this. The story had promise, but it was poorly executed. The game was very linear. Other than making the other characters like you, your choices had almost no effect on the story. The romance was barely there. Plus, there were WAY too many characters to keep up with. With so many names to remember, the game became overwhelming and I found myself not caring about anyone specifically. The idea was interesting, but it needs a lot of editing to be as good as some of
