Impact India runs Lifeline Express, India’s only multispecialty hospital on rail. Lifeline Express goes to remote aspirational districts of India and provides free medical consultation, surgeries, spectacles, hearing aids, orthosis and prosthetics, medicines to the rural underserved population.
Prior to each camp, our team of volunteers covers all villages and padas in the radius of 10 to 15 kms from the station where Lifeline Express is to be stationed. This Outreach activity is aimed at understanding the health condition of the local population and sensitising them on the availability of qualified medical experts and the hospital for free treatment. This ensures that local population is aware of the arrival of Lifeline Express and takes benefit of the free service.
This mobile app is aimed at use by our volunteers when they visit each household during the Outreach phase. All demographic and basic medical history as well as some vital health parameters of each individual are captured. Beneficiaries who are suffering from cataract, hearing loss, dental problems and congenital anomalies which are treated free of cost on Lifeline Express are also given appointments before hand.
The data capture through this app, helps bring deserving patients to the Lifeline Express so that they can be given free treatment by experts. Also the data helps analyse and understand the health status of the served population so that more relevant services can be planned for future camps.
