Luke, a doctor from ancient Antakya, reports in his Gospel about Jesus’ birth, his teaching and his miracles, his crucifixion and resurrection. All this happened during the time of the Roman Empire. The Gospel of Luke points out that Jesus is indeed the Messiah that God had promised by the old prophets. The people were wondering about Jesus’ message because his preaching was different than what they were used to.
